The NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION COUNCIL (NAAC) is an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India to assess and accredit institutions of higher education in the country.In its evolving process it has changed the Grading Pattern from the earlier 9- point scale to the new 3 letter grades, viz., A, B and C for accredited institutions and D for those which are not accredited and has shifted the institutional overall scoring pattern from the earlier percentages to the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) System on a 4-point scale.
